One picture, one word - every week

I think that all of us have the power to CREATE. But can we work together to create something larger than any one of us could ever create alone? Uzbekistan, Nigeria, China, Cambodia, Brazil, America, The Netherlands....wherever you are! Anyone. Anywhere! Do you have a camera and an internet connection?

Here is the challenge and I have no clue what the result will be, but I think it will be interesting. 52 words. 52 weeks. I get to choose the word. YOU get to translate it. Into your language, your culture, yourself, your meaning. Take a picture that captures the spirit of that word TO YOU. You can send a photo 1 time or 52 times. Maybe you will be famous at the end. Maybe you will make someone, somewhere out there THINK about YOUR reality, or maybe the power of someone else's photograph will somehow change you or alter your thoughts for a day, a minute, forever...

Why am I doing this? I've lived in China, in Ethiopia, in America and now I am in the Netherlands. I've worked with AIDS patients in Africa, earthquake victims in China, rural nomads in Mongolia. And now I want to see and hear from everyone...PEOPLE. People out there. People everywhere. I am interested in how similar we are on this planet of destruction and disease and war and beauty and power (and on and on!) Or, how different we are. Or whatever it is that lies in between these two opposing ends. If we take a common theme, like a word, something that points us in a direction and then we spin this in our own, unique way...where do we all wind up? The results are up for discussion and meaningful to us all.

Anyone --at any age ---in any place-- can PARTICIPATE. I will post the photos for one and all to see with or without your name. Whatever you choose. The key of this project is GLOBAL participation. Tell your friends, your enemies, your neighbors.
