52words is LAUNCHED!

Well, the first word is now officially announced - as of January 1st, 2010! Happy New Year everyone--whoever you are, wherever you are!

 The word is: HOME. I started this project because I want to see who is out there - regular people. Any people. And what your life is like. There are newspaper headlines, magazines, books about interesting people. But there is still more to be said. 52words is designed to create bite sized little nuggets of information/art/wonder.... about humanity. Who we all ARE! A project about identity.  Life is so big, so confusing --and I wonder how any of us can even begin to define ourselves. 52words is an effort to focus. Once a week. On a word and what it means to you. A reflection. A meditation.

There are a few posts up there and at the end of the week - I will write a blog entry on one person's photographic submission (with their permission, of course). I love facebook and flickr because it is interactive...I hope you all chime in and make comments...and I will try to make this blog interactive as well.

Looking forward to seeing all of your photos! There are facebook members from all over! Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil! And a large contingent from Kansas City and Houston. So cool!
